Renovations

Picture of Work By David Picture of Work By David BUNGALOW RESTORATION: This bungalow had no insulation and no sheathing under the siding. Section by section, we removed and restored the siding before reinstallation. The house was given ½ inch plywood sheathing to increase wall rigidity. Dense pack cellulose insulation was blown into the walls. We also built a hood roof over the front door. The insulated glass in the original front picture window had failed. We replaced it with 3 double hung windows which is more in keeping with the arts-and-crafts style commonly found in bungalows.

SIDING REPLACEMENT: The biggest challenge in this job was assembling scaffold on the roof of the porch.

SHED REBUILD: When a tree fell on it, this shed was nearly destroyed. We used winches to make things square and vertical before installing new rafters, roofing, siding, and lattice.

These pictures are from a complete siding replacement. You can see the yellow "rain slicker" which prevents the back of the siding from getting wet. This extends the life of the siding and stain.
